Maria Carreno

Hi! My name is Maria Carreno, and I’m currently a senior in high school. I’m from Colombia but I live in Oman. I write for the Newsletter Team here at RFTS.

I joined this organization because of the opportunity of gaining volunteer experience, as well as improving my writing skills. Essay writing has always been my strong suit in school so I figured I’d put it to good use. My teacher recommended RFTS to me and I’m glad she did! It’s been such a great experience.

I like being in RFTS because of the sense of community, everyone is so kind! There are many positions to be a part of, everyone can find something that better suits them. I would recommend people to join RFTS if you want to hone in on your skills and make new friends. Volunteering for RFTS has also helped me with my time management skills. The work is very light but I like to make sure I turn it in on time. Therefore, it’s important to manage your time appropriately.
